Due out this June!

More Prince More Prince

The Prince Estate has announced it will release a new album from the late music icon this year, which will largely feature previously unreleased songs.

Due out on 7 June exclusively on Tidal followed by a wider release on 21 June, Originals will feature 15 tracks, 14 of which were never released by Prince.

Several of the tracks on Originals, selected collaboratively by Troy Carter on behalf of The Prince Estate and JAY-Z, were hits for the artists who released them at the time, including Sheila E's The Glamorous Life, The Bangles' Manic Monday and The Time's Ice Cream Castle.

"Prince will forever be remembered as a commanding live performer, chart-topping recording artist, and music business revolutionary," a statement issued today reads.

"Yet for all the time he spent in the spotlight over his four-decade-long career, Prince also worked tirelessly behind the scenes to nurture talent and pen songs for the rising artists he respected... Originals pulls back the curtain to reveal the origins of these familiar songs."
