A stunning bunch of Melbourne musicians help make Montero's new single sparkle.

More Montero More Montero

We just received Passions, the brand new single from Melbourne's Montero, freshly bounced from the mixing console over the weekend and are very pleased to be able to let you all hear it for the very first time this afternoon.

Led by Ben Montero, the band he has put together features some mighty impressive names from the Melbourne indie music scene. Long time collaborator Gerald Wells is on synths (which, as you'll hear, is a pretty damn important job), Guy Blackman plays piano, Cameron Potts (Ninety Nine, Baseball, Brighter Later) is on drums, Robert Bravington takes up bass duties and Geoffrey O'Connor (Crayon Fields and solo artist in his own right) rounds out the group on guitar.

Passions is a little bit soft-rock throwback, a little bit blissful psych out and lyrically it is a pretty bizarre trip - in the best of ways, of course. But you can make your own mind up about the song by listening to it here!

The debut Montero LP The Loving Gaze is set for release through Mistletone/Inertia on Friday 16 August.

If you like what you hear and you live in either Sydney or Melbourne, you'll be able to see it live when Montero plays the following two single launches in June.
