That didn’t take long!

More Pixies More Pixies

It seems Melbourne can’t get enough of alt-rock icons Pixies, with the band adding a second show in the city due to overwhelming demand.

Announced on Monday, the band's mammoth tour will see them perform their 1988 debut album Surfer Rosa and 1987 debut EP Come On Pilgrim, so it’s not surprising tickets were snapped up when they went live yesterday.

They’ll now play an additional show at Palais Theatre, Melbourne, with their tour set to kick off at the venue on March 9 before they play a sold-out gig there the following night.

As well as performing classic tracks off the aforementioned releases, Pixies will offer up a number of hits across their catalogue, including music from their forthcoming LP, Beneath The Eyrie, which drops next month.

Tickets for the new Melbourne date will go on sale this coming Monday at 12pm.
