The Offspring have announced they are set to release a new album and their first in almost ten years.

Frontman Bryan "Dexter" Holland and guitarist Kevin "Noodles" Wasserman confirmed the news in a post shared on Facebook today.

"It's finished. It's in the can, as they say," Holland said.

"We've got songs, we've got titles, we've got a label... we've got an album title, we've got a cover, we've got artwork and stuff. It's ready to go. We're putting this out."

Holland confirmed that a release date is set which they will reveal "when the label lets us", but that they will release a single from the record "soon".

Speaking to The Music ahead of their headlining set at Australia's debut Good Things Festival back in 2018, Wasserman discussed the new material.

"The stuff we've been writing lately is pretty much straight forward, just kind of, rocking Offspring-sounding stuff," he said.

"But really good. Like, some of the best stuff we've ever done."

The Offspring's last album, Days Go By, was released in 2012.

The California-founded band were scheduled to tour Australia with Sum 41 last year, however the run was called off following the COVID-19 outbreak.
