Obits On First Australian Tour

Rick Froberg's post-Drive Like Jehu/Hot Snakes outfit finally visit.

More Obits More Obits

Rick Froberg is responsible for some of the most vital underground rock'n'roll music to have been released in the past couple of decades thanks to his commanding presence in bands like Drive Like Jehu and Hot Snakes and as the lead man out the front of Obits he has proved that he is still writing material that is as good with a band who can fire as powerfully as ever before. Their first record I Blame You was one of those records that immediately made all indie rock nerds stand to attention; it's taut and brash slices of rock'n'roll fury everything we hoped they would be and more. They continued the good form on last year's Moody, Standard and Poor and now they're finally getting themselves to Australia for a  series of headline shows around the country. Their brand of surf, garage, punk and indie rock is best played viciously loud, so bring your earplugs when they play the following shows:

Thursday 23 August – Annandale Hotel, Sydney
Friday 24 August – Northcote Social Club, Melbourne
Saturday 25 August – Jive, Adelaide
Sunday 26 August – The Zoo, Brisbane

Tickets are on sale Tuesday 12 June.
