"It's a pain that continues to affect many artists and labels."
Truth Decay, the new album from You Me At Six, was supposed to be released in a few weeks' time, on 27 January. Sadly, the English band had to push the release date back due to ongoing vinyl production issues.
Luckily for fans, they won't have to wait too long, as the album will now come out on 10 February - or, as one keen fan commented, "emo kid Christmas" - the same day Paramore and Pierce The Veil release their new records.
"We’re sorry to announce that our album Truth Decay has been postponed due to vinyl production issues to FEBRUARY 10," the band wrote in a statement.
They added, "It’s a pain that continue to affect many artists and labels and sadly we’re joining the club.
"We hope that you’re able to wait a couple of extra weeks.
"Promise we’ll make this up to you at our shows in Feb x".
Vocalist Josh Franceschi shared his frustration on Instagram but thanked "Colin, everyone at Awal/Underdog Records and our Mgmt company who spent their down time over Xmas & New Years trying to remedy this. Don’t sweat it".
The singer also teased an upcoming Australian visit on Twitter, which we couldn't be more excited about.
“We were talking about coming back to Australia the other day, and there are a few things on the table," Franceschi said in a recent Kill Your Stereo interview. “We're definitely coming back in 2023. It's just whether we're coming back in May or if we're coming back in your summer, sort of December time. If it were up to me, I would do both because one is a festival, and the other is headlining. I'd headline and then come back for the festival, but I don't really know how that logistically works. So, I'm just being a good boy.”
The band have also released a bunch of great singles from Truth Decay - with another one coming before the new release date - including the synth-laden heartLESS, the punchy Deep Cuts, No Future? Yeah, Right, featuring Enter Shikari vocalist Rou Reynolds and the emotional throwback of Mixed Emotions (I Didn’t Know How to Tell You What I Was Going Through).
