There are a slew of unsigned Adelaide artists on the cusp of breaking out, something new Music SA initiative, Scouted, will assist with this winter.

To coincide with the inaugural AIR Awards and accompanying two-date music conference in the state this July, Music SA have rounded up prominent unsigned musical talents for showcases at East-End hotspots Producers Bar, Crown & Anchor and the Tandanya laneway on July 28.

Known as the festival state, it’s fitting the bill features WOMAD favourites Electric Fields and independent brit-punk outfit Young Offenders, the latter of which have recently returned from Glastonbury Festival.

Scouted will also feature sets from Bec Stevens (who you can expect big things from), Heaps Good Friends, Tom West, Mane, Alana Jagt and Battlehounds.

“With key identities from the Australian music industry in town for the AIR awards, this is the perfect opportunity to highlight the wealth of talent that SA holds,” Music SA General Manager Lisa Bishop said.

“It's going to be really exciting to not only see these groups perform but to also highlight the astounding quality of live music venues we have in Adelaide and truly put South Australian original music in the spotlight nationally.”
