The band’s long absence has created incredible anticipation among their Australian fanbase.
Melbourne extreme metal outfit Ne Obliviscaris will return to their home country of Australia in September, performing four headline shows nationwide with international special guests The Ocean (Germany) and Rivers Of Nihil (US).
The nights of extreme, technical and progressive metal will be the local outfit’s first headline tour of Australia in four years.
Promoting their new album, Exul, the band’s long absence has created incredible anticipation among their Australian fanbase, who in the past were always treated to a tour every year.
You can catch one of the most thrilling metal tours of the year on Wednesday, 6 September, at The Tivoli in Brisbane, Friday, 8 September, at the Manning Bar in Sydney, Melbourne’s Forum Theatre on Saturday, 9 September, and Adelaide on Sunday, 10 September, at The Gov in Adelaide.
While it’s a massive bummer that there’s no Perth date, here’s hoping that Ne Obliviscaris make it to their devoted fans on the west coast sooner rather than later.

Exul was finally mixed and mastered in July 2022; the band began recording in March 2020, but due to American producer Mark Lewis, guitarist Benjamin Baret and bassist Martino Garattoni being stranded overseas indefinitely after Australia closed the international border, the process almost completely broke the band.
“Overall, there’s a darker core to this album, perhaps more ominous than previous releases,” vocalist Xenoyr said. “However abstract the lyrics are, they involve some form of unwanted departure — all journeys into torment, passion, longing and even despair.”
