Pinch Points and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever are among the nominees.

The Music Victoria Awards have revealed the Industry-Voted nominees today. While the ever-prolific King Gizzard And The Lizard Wizard have dominated their fields over the years, winning Best Live Act, Song Of The Year and Best Album in 2016, they lead this year's nomination list with Best Rock/Punk Work. Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever also join them in the category for their record Endless Rooms.

Often known for their off-kilter art rock and energetic stage presence, Melbourne/Naarm outfit Jaala has been selected for an industry nomination for Gap Tooth, the first release for the band in their current formation.

Self-described 'smile-punk' outfit Pinch Points - whose record Process gained them a considerable following thanks to the complex combination of depressing cynicism and hopeful reassurance, addressing issues from the consequences of white supremacy, patriarchy, capitalism and the environment - also scored a nomination in the Best Rock/Punk Work category.

Last but not least is Dr Sure's Unusual Practice, who act as almost a supergroup with members floating in from both Melbourne and Perth, have also scored themselves a nomination for their work on Remember the Future? Vol. 2 & 1.

Over in the Heavy category, Melbourne three-piece Diploid will duke it out alongside sludge metal band ISUA, fast-paced and danceable punk outfit Jalang (formerly Lái), 5-piece hardcore band Outright and RINUWATthe substantive conceptual project for collaborators Karina Utomo (High Tension), Rama Parwata and Mike Deslandes.

The 2022 Industry-Voted Awards prizes are enormous, with new additions from Fender and Jackson - Fender American Vintage II Stratocaster 57, two Pro Series Jackson guitars, and a Pro Series Jackson bass up for grabs. Another prize is from Ableton; they have a professional development package to support two category winners. Lastly, Bakehouse will again provide rehearsal packages for the community categories.
