The Melbourne hardcore scene is in good hands, with HEAVENSGATE releasing stupendously heavy music.

Fresh off their debut single, CHEMICAL HEAVEN, which they put out last month, the band haven't rested on their laurels and today arrive with SHEMOVESLIKETHUNDER.

The track is inspired by vocalist Nazareth Tharratt's experience of "suffering through drug addiction and self-destructive habits as a coping mechanism, whilst also having a lover in a fragile state who desperately looks to you for support, comfort and stability whilst they struggle through their own mental health issues. The lyrics are a personal acknowledgment of faults and regrets, poured into an open letter."

While SHEMOVESLIKETHUNDER is an incredibly personal song, the music is chaotic, noisy, and restless. Guitars are drop-tuned, they screech, and the drums are in your face as much as the vocals.

Joshua Ang (Pincer+) co-wrote and assisted in the production of the band's debut. The new track boasts metal masterminds Erik Bickerstaffe (Loathe) for drum production and writing and Buster Odeholm of Odeholm Audio (Humanity's Last Breath, Vildhjarta, Sworn In) for the mix and master.

Like the CHEMICAL HEAVEN music video, Oliver Clark and Jack Fontes of DUNELABS (Pincer+, Elision) took over directing, editing and videography. It's an intense video to match the song.
