One of Australia’s most beloved death-meets-metalcore outfits, Make Them Suffer, hit a momentous milestone yesterday (29 May), having reached over one million monthly listeners on Spotify.

If the number of listeners on Spotify is 1,002,539 (as of yesterday), what’s the number of listeners across all streaming platforms? As Spotify is the largest of the streaming services, Apple Music and YouTube Music will surely hold some impressive numbers as well. Congratulations to Make Them Suffer!

The news was revealed by the band’s label, Greyscale Records, on social media. They wrote yesterday: “Make Them Suffer have just surpassed 1 MILLION monthly listeners on Spotify.

Make Them Suffer are currently running through a completely sold-out tour celebrating ten years of their seminal album, Neverbloom. If their social media profile is anything to go by, this tour may be the last time fans will be hearing Neverbloom songs in a live setting.

The remaining shows are in Canberra tomorrow, followed by Melbourne on Thursday, Adelaide on Saturday, and Perth on Sunday. Next Saturday, 10 June, Make Them Suffer will perform in Darwin for the first time.

As well as undertaking a massive Neverbloom tour, Make Them Suffer dropped a new single, Ghost Of Me, three weeks ago. The Perth outfit’s ravenous new tune contains Alex Reade’s soaring vocals, contrasted with Sean Harmanis’ gutturals and punchy guitars. Ghost Of Me is the band’s second song featuring Reade and follows last year’s explosive Doomswitch.

"We are thrilled to announce the release of our latest single, Ghost Of Me,” Harmanis said in a press release. “The new song marks a significant step in the evolutionary process of MTS' sound, showcasing our dedication to exploring new sonic territories. Designed to complement high-energy live performances, this single promises to be a visually explosive and unforgettable experience for our followers."

Alongside the release of Ghost Of Me, Make Them Suffer announced that they signed with Greyscale in Australia and Sharptone Records in the rest of the world. This September and October, they’ll join Parkway Drive on their gigantic Monsters Of Oz Tour, celebrating the band’s 20th anniversary on an all-Aussie bill alongside The Amity Affliction and Northlane.
