Lisa Mitchell, Charlie Collins & More Join Forces For Massive Fleetwood Mac Tribute Shows

A group of Australia’s best modern pop and rock artists – Lisa Mitchell, Charlie Collins, Kav Temperley (of Eskimo Joe fame) and Karen Lee Andrews – have announced Yesterday’s Gone, a spellbinding tribute to the undeniably iconic Fleetwood Mac.

The supergroup will perform two very special shows on the east coast later this year, first at North Head in Eora/Manly on Friday September 22 (as part of this year’s Night At The Barracks program) and then at Naarm/Melbourne’s Northcote Theatre on Friday October 20. In a press statement, Temperley said the tribute shows would be special in part because of his personal connection to Fleetwood Mac: “The sounds of Fleetwood Mac were hanging around my house growing up before I even knew what I was listening to. So now, every time I chuck on a Fleetwood Mac record, it feels like I’m catching up with an old friend. I reconnected again with the albums as I got older, not only do the recordings sound so good but, it's very rare that a band would have so many great songwriters in one place.”

As you’d expect, both shows will feature a sprawling slate of Fleetwood Mac’s biggest and best songs – some listed directly in the announcement are Landslide, Don’t Stop (which is where the tribute’s name comes from), Rhiannon, Go Your Own Way, Everywhere, Songbird, Gypsy, Little Lies, Dreams and Say You Love Me.

Back in February of this year – following the death of legendary keyboardist/vocalist Christine McVie last November – Mick Fleetwood himself said the future of Fleetwood Mac was uncertain, but that he was erring towards the band being finished. “I truly think the line in the sand has been drawn with the loss of Chris,” he said. “I'd say we're done, but then we've all said that before. It's sort of unthinkable right now.”
