Not to sound impatient, but it's about time

Globally renowned French electronic luminary St Germain has announced that he will return to Australia for the first time in 15 years this coming March for a pair of headline shows, riding the wave of his recently released, acclaimed, eponymous new album.

Having stormed onto the scene 20 years ago with venerated debut effort Boulevard (and hit unprecedented heights with his multi-platinum third LP, Tourist, in 2000), Germain will bring his complex, layered sounds — drawing influence everywhere from jazz to traditional Malian music — to Australia for a show at The Forum, Melbourne, on 14 March, heading down to Sydney's Enmore Theatre to perform on 15 March.

St Germain has unveiled one single from the new record so far, the widely well-received Real Blues. It originally dropped back in May, and features the stupendous sampled vocal work of legendary US blues man Lightnin' Hopkins. Give it a burl below.

Tickets for both shows will go on sale from midday next Friday, 27 November, but if you're a Telstra customer, Telstra Thanks' pre-sale will run for 48 hours, from 9am Tuesday 24 November through 9am Thursday 26 November. For more information about the pre-sale, see Telstra's website.
