Vocal issues have caused one of the main performers of Knotfest to pull out last minute.

More Bad Omens More Bad Omens

US alt-metal outfit Bad Omens has announced that they will no longer be performing at Knotfest Melbourne due to the lead singer's ongoing vocal issues.

The band made the announcement on social media this morning detailing their sudden cancellation.

"Knotfest Melbourne, Unfortunately, I'm still dealing with the loss of my voice that began at our sideshow two nights ago in Sydney, so Bad Omens won't be performing today. If you read our previous statement I'm sure you're aware of how upsetting this is for all of us both band and crew that have worked so hard and traveled so long to be here in Australia for the first time. We know how disappointing this will be for so many people, but we sincerely hope you'll allow us to make it up to you in the future when we return. All I can do at this point is continue rest and treatment and hope I'm back in shape in time to perform at the two, or worst case one of the remaining Knotfest dates.

"Thank you to everybody that's been so understanding, all the other amazing vocalists that have reached out to try to help me recover, and Knotfest for having us this year regardless of if we end up getting to perform."

Knotfest also acknowledged the cancellation this morning on social media in a welcome post to the punters who would be arriving at the Melbourne festival in a few short hours.

"𝗣𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲: 𝗕𝗮𝗱 𝗢𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗱𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗞𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗳𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲.  𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗳𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁"

They released the full statement from Bad Omens in the comments.

There is no word yet on whether the band will be able to perform at the Sydney and Melbourne Knotfest dates.

The vocal issue supposedly started just three days ago at the band's Sydney sideshow, which was cut short due to the same issues.

Lead singer Sebastian addressed the shorter show in a statement shared on social media and wrote, “Tonight something happened with my voice that I can't explain as it's never happened to me before.

"I take so much pride in my endurance as a vocalist and such good care of my voice on tour that until now I've felt invincible, but tonight I was humbled and finally experienced every singer's worst nightmare, during our first time ever in Australia no less.

“I chose to cut the set short instead of pushing on only out of concern that I'd potentially make whatever is wrong with my voice worse, and then also be unable to sing at the Knotfest performances that brought us here in the first place. With that said, my priority right now is getting my voice back to 100% in time for those last three shows here.”

We hope that Sebastian can make a speedy recovery and get back on stage ASAP.
