Don't say you weren't warned about this one - Knotfest in Melbourne has completely sold out three months before the inaugural event. Thousands of maggots in Victoria, huh?

As the official Knotfest Australia Facebook page notes, the Sydney edition is selling fast, and Brisbane is already up to the final tickets. Demand is high for heavy metal music throughout the country.

Just days ago, the festival revealed that it was down to the final 250 tickets for the Melbourne leg of Slipknot's curated festival.

Knotfest Australia is coming to Australia in March 2023 and features the world's current biggest metal bands. Slipknot will be joined by Parkway Drive, Megadeth, Trivium, Northlane, Amon Amarth, In Flames, Knocked Loose, Spiritbox, Story Of The Year, Alphawolf, Void Of Vision, Bad Omens and Malevolence.

Slipknot created Knotfest in 2012. From the original event in Iowa - where else? - the festival quickly expanded to Japan in 2014. Knotfest has also stopped in Canada, Germany, Mexico, Colombia and France.

The event is lovingly dubbed an immersive, unforgettable, ‘dark carnival experience’ that invites you into Slipknot’s apocalyptic underworld where stunning visuals, fire breathers and nightmarish creatures on stilts set the stage for an intoxicating and memorable weekend of live music.

Void Of Vision's Jack Bergin recently told us that being part of the very first Knotfest Australia is a dream come true.

"We heard rumours about [Knotfest coming to Australia] probably at the start of this year, and it was on the grapevine for a while, but I never thought it would be a big thing," he says, but then the band's manager told them to keep late March 2023 free and mentioned the venues, to which Bergin assumed Download Festival would return down under.

"Then we got the offer," Bergin smiles, and the holy shit moment arrived. "To be a part of any inaugural festival is a massive thing. But such a culturally iconic one for our genre is just crazy. We're all big Slipknot fans; we're pretty late bloomers, admittedly, but still massive fans of Slipknot. It's honestly a dream come true. To be associated with those artists on that lineup, I guess they considered us the fresh blood that Slipknot fans will experience on the day, which is just crazy. I'm very honoured."
