Knife Party Cancel Headline Tour To Join Future Music Bill

The dance duo think it "wouldn't have made sense" to do both

Aussie EDM act Knife Party have reportedly cancelled their upcoming headline tour, with the duo set to play Future Music Festival early next year instead.

The outfit appeared on Richard Kingsmill's program on triple j overnight and said it didn't seem logical to play both their run of shows this December and the festival next February/March.

"We were planning to come down and do a little tour over there - the five [Australian capital] cities and Auckland but we got approached by Future Music at the last minute who said, 'instead of doing that why don't you headline the main stage?'"

The Pendulum spin-off said it "wouldn't have made sense" to do both in that short turnaround.

There's been no official confirmation from Future on the addition as yet.

UPDATE [11:50AM]: It's been confirmed that Knife Party's December shows have been cancelled and they have been added to the FMF line-up.

Ticketholders for any of the headline shows are being offered Future tickets at $60 less than the normal price. If they accept, they will not need to swap or receive new tickets as the original ones will still be valid.

Fans can get full refunds though up until Monday 22 December and are encouraged to contact their point of purchase if they bought them at a ticket agency.
