Melua will perform at Bluesfest Byron Bay over three days – Friday, 29 March, Sunday, 31 March and Monday, 1 April, and has locked in two sideshows.

Sydneysiders can see Melua perform at the City Recital Hall (as part of their Singular Voices series) on Wednesday, 3 April, while Melburnians can catch her at the Northcote Theatre on Thursday, 4 April.

Last year, Melua released her ninth album, Love & Money. Described as “a stunning and personal 10-track glimpse” into her life and artistic journey, Melua teamed up with producer Leo Abrahams and recorded the album at the Peter Gabriel-owned Real World Studios.

She’s an ECHO and Goldene Kamera award winner and a BRIT Award nominee. In addition to her excellent discography, Melua has participated in charity work – she performed at Band Aid 20, acted as a goodwill ambassador for Save The Children, and has been a patron of the charities Fair Trees and Manx Cancer Help.

From 2003 until 2012, Melua was the top album-selling female artist in the UK and Europe. In total, she’s had eight top-charting albums: Call Off The Search, Piece By Piece, Pictures, The House, Secret Symphony, Ketevan, In Winter and Album No. 8.

Bluesfest Byron Bay director Peter Noble said about Melua’s upcoming Australian appearances, “Australians have waited 19 long years to hear Katie Melua's stunning voice live in concert, and we are pleased to announce that the wait is almost over.

“Katie is one of Britain and Europe’s highest-selling female recording artists of all time; you only need to listen to one of eight studio albums to understand why. She is incredibly talented.

“Katie will be performing three times at Bluesfest and headline a show at the City Recital Hall in Sydney and Northcote Theatre in Melbourne. Prepare to be stunned!”
