Glorious.

More Diplo More Diplo

Viceland has locked down a new Lonely Island-esque mockumentary that will see Dawson’s Creek star James Van Der Beek portray a fictional version of Diplo.

As Entertainment Weekly reports, the Vice channel has signed on for six episodes of What Would Diplo Do? (WT), which will drop in 2017 with Van Der Beek also writing and producing the series with executive producer Diplo overseeing Viceland’s first scripted comedy series.

The announcement comes with a Day In The Life Of Diplo tour promo video, in which Van Der Beek gives an exciting taste of what to expect, fighting ninjas before riding on off a horse.

“I’ve enjoyed deconstructing my own image quite a bit over the years, but to have the chance to do it with a global megastar like Diplo, who’s letting us do something fun and ridiculous that few people have the balls to allow, is crazy,” Van Der Beek said.

The teaser is quick to address haters, and it seems that Diplo’s found the best way to combat trolls, unleashing a hilarious portrait of himself.

It’s not Van Der Beek’s first tango with comedy, playing himself in Don't Trust the Bitch In Apartment 23 back in 2012-13 to great effect.
