Following up from the Easter break, here's the latest from the Indie scene during the holiday and this week.

Local punk band Far Away Stables, who supported Paramore and The Offspring recently at Soundwave, have begun touring the east coast of Australia. The tour ends on May 28, so get your tickets!

This year's Hilltop Hoods Initiative winner, sponsored by APRA, is Chelsea Jane, a young hip hop artist from the Gold Coast. She's received $10, 000 which will be used to promote and produce her first album. Her first EP Queen Of The Hill was released last Friday, and a full length project is in the works!

Pop-rock group Larger Than Lions has taken out the Marble Bar Comp in Sydney, beating four other local acts. Their first show was on April 3, and they will perform every Wednesday until the end of June. Get down there and have a listen!

Tegan & Sara will be supported on their sideshow tour of Australia by part Aussie and part South African synth-pop band Clubfeet. Despite Clubfeet not supporting while Tegan & Sara perform at Groovin' The Moo, you can see their supporting shows in April and May across the country.

Some great news for local music, with four Aussie artists being named in this year's Lollapalooza festival in the US. In particular Perth's San Cisco have made the cut. The festival is from 2-4 August in Chicago.

San Cisco received more good news this week, with two of their scheduled shows in May selling out. Being the lovely people they are however, they've announced some extra shows. Get some tickets!

Melbourne rock group British India meanwhile have recorded their third top-ten album in the charts this week, with Controller debuting at ten on the list. A great achievement given the current competition!
