The Ballarat band have announced their final shows

Ballarat-formed indie rock outfit Hunting Grounds have announced their final shows as a band.

The six-piece confirmed their split overnight, releasing this statement to their fans:

"After almost 10 years of us playing together, two EP's, one album, hundreds of shows and countless great times we have decided that this year will be the last year of Hunting Grounds. Without the incredible support of all of you this wouldn't have been possible.

We love you all, thanks for listening.

Hunting Grounds got their big break through triple j's Unearthed High competition, which they won in 2009 for their track Blackout. The band released their first EP Howl that year and Brothers In Violence the following, with their debut album In Hindsight in 2012.

To celebrate their time together and with their loyal fans, the guys have announced three farewell shows for next month and December. They'll support Yacht Club DJs at the Barwon Club in Geelong and Melbourne's Corner Hotel at the end of November, plus play a headline show at the Karova Lounge, Ballarat.
