Henry Rollins, Alexei Sayle & More Sign On For 2016 Festival Of Dangerous Ideas

The annual summit on all things subversive returns to Sydney in just a few months

Movers, shakers, thinkers and doers will converge on Sydney Opera House in a big way this September for the 2016 Festival Of Dangerous Ideas, the newly released line-up for which features a deeply impressive roster of great minds, including veteran musician and activist Henry Rollins, celebrated British comedian Alexei Sayle and Vice US contributing editor Molly Crabapple.

Also among the cabal of Sydney-bound iconoclasts are #blacklivesmatter figurehead Alicia Garza, former Australian High Court justice Michael Kirby, acclaimed circus performer Sarah Houboult, noted feminist Germaine Greer and Race Discrimination Commissioner Tim Soutphommasane.

Journalists, commentators and writers both local and international contribute a significant number of speakers to the 2016 spread, with the Australian contingent featuring the likes of Tracey HolmesAnnabel CrabbHamish MacdonaldDavid Marr and the ever-controversial Andrew Bolt. Also aboard for the ride are ITV News UK science correspondent Alok Jha, The Economist UK environment correspondent Miranda JohnsonRolling Stone and New York Times writer Neil Strauss, and authors George Packer, Priyamvada GopalLionel ShriverLev Grossman and Satyajit Das, among others.

The 2016 Festival Of Dangerous Ideas will be held at the Sydney Opera House from 3-4 September. Tickets go on sale in two stages — multipack passes will be available from 9am on Monday 11 July, with single tickets following from 9am on Thursday 14 July, via the Sydney Opera House.
