The Sydney troubadour heads to Nashville later this month too.

More Andy Golledge More Andy Golledge

Sydney singer-songwriter Andy Golledge is getting ready to release his debut studio full-length as well as showcase twice at this week's BIGSOUND event in Brisbane, but before he hits the stage The Music is stoked to share with you his excellent new full-band track 1170.

Flanked by fellow guitarist Leroy Lee and banjoist/backing vocalist Caitlin Harnett among the ranks of his six-piece outfit, Golledge delivers a lilting, earnest country cruiser that highlights the man's powerful vocal range and lyrical dexterity.

"1170 is basically written about losing love that’s carefree and easy, and the realisation that in today’s society that can be pretty hard to come by," he said in a statement. "I guess it’s about the search for unrequited love. LOL maybe I should just get a dog."

Golledge and his band are no strangers to the stages of the Sydney inner-west, and they're set to travel to Nashville later this month for the Americana Music Festival.

Before they do, though, their namesake will be performing two showcases at BIGSOUND — the first tonight, 5 September, at 10pm at the Empire Hotel; the second at 10.45pm Thursday night at Laruche.
