More Hands Like Houses More Hands Like Houses

Hands Like Houses are sounding like they did when they made Dissonants (2016) again, and what a thrill it is to behold.

Their new single, Hurricane, sees the Canberra five-piece launch forward in terms of pop-metal songwriting and vocalist Trenton Woodley using the full range of his voice.

During COVID isolation and lack of touring, Hands Like Houses had time to reflect, reset, cry, and become parents.

Hurricane is a song about resilience and keeping your head above water until better days roll around. The band shared, "For a long time, our band was defined by our time on the road, and so we wanted this song to distil what we love about the live experience. Its power, its emotion and its energy - meant to kick you in the chest and then give your heart a squeeze.

"In the same breath, we wanted to pay homage to those definitive years we spent chasing that experience and the albums born out of them. We chose this song because it felt like a nod to that past while also casting a cautious eye to the future, whatever it may bring."

Hurricane arrives just in time for the band's upcoming East Coast tour, which begins this weekend, and might sway those in Melbourne and Sydney to sell out the shows, just like Brisbane fans have. Find the final tickets here.

Hands Like Houses will come back with new music next year, too. The group has enjoyed 2x Top 10 ARIA-charting albums (Dissonants and 2018's Anon), more than 130,000 album sales and over 130 million Spotify streams. 2020 saw the band enjoy commercial success, landing theme songs for the AFL & NRL Grand Final series, the WWE Super Showdown, the Fox League theme, and full rotation on Triple M and triple j.
