Due to unprecedented demand, Guy Sebastian has announced a second and final show for his Double Decade Celebration, which will take place at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt. At this exact location, he was crowned Australian Idol 20 years ago.

The first show, held on Sunday, 10 December, has sold out, leading Sebastian to host another show on Monday, 11 December. Tickets for the additional show go on sale on Friday, 6 October, at 9 am local time via the Live Nation website.

“I am overwhelmed by the messages and this news,” Sebastian said in a statement. “I have the best fans and can’t wait to celebrate with everyone in December! Massive thanks, legends!!!”

Sebastian’s Double Decade Celebration concert was originally announced in September, with the show billed as his only concert of 2023. Now two events, the Double Decade Celebration is presented by KIIS Radio.

He said in a press release when the show was initially announced, “Twenty years ago when I was standing on the very same steps at the Opera House, I couldn’t of imagined that I would be back here still doing what I love, so come celebrate with me!”

In a Facebook post, Sebastian added, “For this one off show, I’m going to dive back into the catalogue, choose songs that have always been fan favourites, maybe some that I haven’t even performed before… and even some songs from Idol all those years ago. It will be a night under the stars that I won’t forget – can’t wait to see you there!”

In August, Sebastian released his first new song in three years, I Chose Good. Like many current-day Guy Sebastian songs, it’s a pop-meets-soul banger in the fashion of Black Eyed Peas’ Where Is The Love. Then, the choir section complements Sebastian’s immense vocal range and adds colour to an already positive single. You can watch him perform the track below.
