Band will release EP this month

Dreamy post-punk Queensland duo Gung Ho will release their debut EP through Create/Control - the 'artist services' sister label of Dew Process.

The five-track release, Anywhere Else, is slated for Friday 22 February and features the singles Twin Rays, Strangers and Side By Side, which have been kicked around on radio for as early as 2011.

Members Oliver Duncan and Michael McAlary produced and engineered the EP themselves in home-studios, bedrooms and other spaces.

Managed by Mucho Bravado, today the company's Will Weightman told theMusic.com.au that they will be pushing the band along “swiftly” following the release.

Of the deal he said, “It's an incredibly positive accumulation of the band's tireless efforts over the last 18 months. The record features three standout singles amongst a few other crowd-favourites and it's a real testament to what we feel is their exceptional songwriting craft.

“From here, we're eager to move onto their next steps swiftly, with a follow-up EP already in the works and an active touring schedule coming together for the remainder of the year.”

They are booked by Select Music and the deal comes after the band first released the singles through the Future Classic label.
