US rock group Greta Van Fleet have postponed their final two Australian shows.

As reported by Triple M, the band have been forced to cancel tonight and tomorrow night's shows at Melbourne's Forum Theatre and Festival Hall, following frontman Josh Kiszka developing laryngitis.

The band shared the news in a post to their Facebook page this afternoon, written by Kiszka, saying they are "already working on a momentous return to make this up" after sharing that doctors have advised not to perform as it could cause damage to his vocal cords.

The news comes just days after the group were forced to cancel their Brisbane show at the weekend.

"It means the world to me to be able to perform for you, and it breaks my heart to have to do this, but I must take my health very seriously, so as to not run the risk of causing more serious harm," says Kiszka in the post.

"I am terribly sorry to make this announcement, we are already working on a momentous return to make this up to you and will be announcing that very soon."
