Fantastic news for Green Day fans out there — the rockers have hinted that they’re planning to head Down Under in 2025.

Appearing on Sunrise on Monday (Nov. 12) ahead of the release of their new album Saviors next month, Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt and Tre Cool dropped the major news that the trio are hoping to head to Australia.

“We haven’t been to Australia in years,” Billie Joe said. “We definitely want to come back — maybe 2025.

“Every time we go to Australia it’s hard to leave.”

The exciting news comes following the release of Dilemma, with Armstrong explaining that the track resonated with him deeply due to his previous struggles with addiction.

“I was sober now I’m drunk again / I’m in trouble and in love again / I don’t want to be a dead man walking / I don’t want to be a dead man walking,” he sings on the track, which was inspired by the singer’s addiction issues.

“I’ve struggled with addiction ever since I was a teenager, and I got sober for like five years … I started drinking again and it really started taking a physical and mental toll on me where I just felt like I couldn’t stop, I was a glutton, it became an obsession,” Armstrong said of the personal track (as per Daily Telegraph).

“It started affecting the people around me that I love the most. And so that’s what I wrote about. And I haven’t had a drink in like 16 months.”

Earlier this year, Green Day celebrated 30 years of their seminal third album, Dookie, with a massive anniversary reissue that included limited edition vinyl and CD box sets.

“Sometimes you take a gamble and luck’s on your side. Back in the summer of ‘93 Green Day went into the studio to record Dookie and had no idea what their destiny would be,” the band wrote on Instagram upon announcing the Dookie reissue in August.

“They were young, rebellious, and absolutely scared shitless. There was no telling if they were about to prove everyone wrong or make the biggest mistake of their lives.

“This year Dookie turns 30, and they’ve cracked open the vaults putting together an epic 30th Anniversary Super Deluxe version of the album that will be available as a 6-LP vinyl, 4-CD box set and up everywhere digitally.”

Dilemma is out now and Saviors is released on January 19.
