Pixar, Fat Freddy's Drop lead GRAPHIC 2012

GRAPHIC 2012 has revealed the full program for its third annual graphic storytelling festival, which showcases illustration, comics, animation and music from local and international artists over the Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 November weekend.

To be held at the Sydney Opera House, this year, the festival boasts a number of world premiers, Australian exclusives and unique commissioned works. Amongst these commissioned works includes Pixar: Behind The Scenes, an exclusive insight into Pixar's 25 year animation studio career, to be presented by Academy Award winning director Lee Unkrich. New Zealand reggae/soul outfit Fat Freddy's Drop will be performing an exclusive and commissioned preview of their yet to be released fourth record, Blackbird, and will feature a fusion of music, animation and illustration.

The world of Dr. Seuss will be brought to life at the Opera Theatre by artists from Australian hip-hop/electronic outfit, Elefant Traks, featuring members of The Herd, Hermitude, Urthboy and more, in the musical tribute Dr. Seuss Meets Elefent Tracks, another exclusive commissioned work for GRAPHIC.

More festival highlights include the live gaming quiz show, The Good Game: 'Roffle Cup' Live; a discussion of the origin, evolution and future of computer animation by creatives from Animal Logic; indie cartoonist and writer Peter Bagge will discuss his work with dark and hysterical comics of the past 30 years HATE! & Other Neat Stuff; whilst FBi Radio team up with GRAPHIC to hold a live radio-show-meets-comic-strip storytelling show, all performed live.
