More Frank Ocean More Frank Ocean

Frank Ocean has pulled out of his Coachella weekend two headline slot and will be replaced by the surprise addition to the weekend one schedule, blink-182.

After a nightmarish weekend one performance - Ocean's highly-anticipated return to the stage was marred by the singer and rapper deciding to cancel the live stream of his set on Coachella's YouTube, his performance running late and then being cut short due to curfew. He also performed behind a screen and later revealed that he had an ankle injury.

A representative for Ocean said in a statement to Variety: “Frank Ocean will not be performing at weekend 2 of Coachella.

“After suffering an injury to his leg on festival grounds in the week leading up to weekend 1. Frank Ocean was unable to perform the intended show but was still intent on performing, and in 72 hours, the show was reworked out of necessity.

“On doctor’s advice, [Ocean] is not able to perform weekend 2 due to two fractures and a sprain in his left leg.”

Ocean added that the experience was “chaotic”, but “There is some beauty in chaos. It isn’t what I intended to show but I did enjoy being out there and I’ll see you soon.”

Blink-182 were a late addition to the 2023 Coachella line-up, appearing on the event schedule, which was announced just days before weekend one of the mega festival began.

The band’s appearance at Coachella on Friday, 14 April, was the first time the classic lineup of Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge performed together in nine years.

Blink-182’s Coachella weekend one set was packed with crass NSFW banter, Mark Hoppus looking happier than ever, and a trip down nostalgia lane. Check out their setlist below.
