More Foxing More Foxing

Ascendant Missouri-bred indie/emo five-piece Foxing have announced that they will be returning to the studio to record their second full-length album with renowned producer Matt Bayles this May.

Bayles is arguably best-known for his work as the producer for indie-rock vets Minus The Bear (for whom he also played keys for several years), but has a litany of legendary alternative albums to his name, including releases from short-lived hardcore legends Botch, fellow Minus The Bear progenitors Sharks Keep Moving, as well as having his name attached to albums by artists such as Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Deftones (Around The Fur, no less), Pearl Jam, The Blood Brothers, Isis, Mono, Murder City Devils, Mastodon, Norma Jean, HORSE The Band, The Fall Of Troy, Russian Circles, A Wilhelm Scream, Cursive, and Caspian — so, yeah, he's more than up to the task.

"Bayles' body of work is as impressive as it is inspiring, and we are really looking forward to working and collaborating with him on this project," Foxing wrote on their Facebook page at the weekend. "If all goes according to plan, our album will be out later this year — and if not, here's to hoping it's all the better."

Before they start work with Bayles, however, the band will finish up pre-production work with Ryan Wasoba (ex-So Many Dynamos), who handled production duties on Foxing's debut full-length, The Albatross.

The Albatross was independently released in 2013 before being remixed and remastered for a second release in 2014, and was acclaimed widely as part of the then-fledgling emo revival, though the band have since distanced themselves from the term.
