On Friday, 8 September, Fleetwood Mac will release Rumours Live, a live album celebrating the band’s iconic love and breakups record via Rhino Records.

Recorded on 29 August 1977, six months after the album’s release, Fleetwood Mac played to 20,000 people at the Forum in Los Angeles. Below, you can hear a live version of Dreams and check out the tracklist.

As Rolling Stone reports, Rumours Live will be released on double LP, double CD, and a digital album containing over 90 minutes of previously unheard music. You can pre-order the album here.

In October 2020, Dreams – the first single from Rumours moved up to #4 on the ARIA Singles Chart after a viral TikTok video catapulted the song to stardom, beating its #19 peak in 1977.

In case you missed it: the TikTok saw Nathan Apodaca (who goes by the handle @420doggface208) skating down a freeway and singing along to the legendary Fleetwood Mac hit while drinking from a bottle of Ocean Spray.

Following the viral TikTok, Dreams streaming figures substantially rose: Spotify saw a 127% increase in song streams, with a 242% increase in first-time listens. Shazam saw a 1,137% increase in Shazams for the track.

Ten years ago, Fleetwood Mac released Rumours: 35th Anniversary Expanded Edition. The Music reviewer Adam Wilding said about the three-disc release:

“For this expanded version of the 1977 classic, Warner has put together a whole bunch of live recordings from the album tour and other early demos to supplement the original album, all spread over three discs. The outtakes are of particular interest, especially the commentary between takes from the band members themselves.

“What's really good about the reissue, though, is the reminder of how great the songs sound by today's standards, not just in terms of composition, but the recording technique employed, which delivers a warm, rich tone that was pioneering back then and seemingly worlds apart from the digital standard and revivalist analogue techniques used by some in the present.”
