'Bays' hits shelves in late October via The Drop/Remote Control Records

More Fat Freddy's Drop More Fat Freddy's Drop

Stalwart Kiwi septet Fat Freddy's Drop are at it again, setting their eyes on Australian shores afresh for yet another extensive national tour early next year in the wake of their forthcoming new album Bays, due for release late next month.

The venerated veterans will take the long shot over to Perth to kick off their sojourn across the ditch, playing at Red Hill Auditorium (with Hiatus Kaiyote and Thomas Oliver) on Saturday, 13 February. Oliver stays with the touring party for the rest of the journey, which takes in shows at Clancy's Fish Pub, Dunsborough (14 February); Thebarton Theatre, Adelaide (17 February); The Forum, Melbourne (19-20 February); Odeon Theatre, Hobart (24 February); Hordern Pavilion, Sydney (26 February, once again also with Haitus Kaiyote in support alongside Oliver); and The Tivoli, Brisbane (27 February).

Tickets for all shows go on sale this Friday, 11 September, from 10am, just over a month before Bays drops on Friday, 23 October, via The Drop/Remote Control Records. Then, you'll have a few months to properly familiarise yourself with the group's fresh batch of material, so far teased by the likes of lead single release Slings & Arrows, itself demonstrative of Bays' unique gestation process in the Fat Freddy's Drop canon.

"It's been a more creative process writing this album in the studio, rather than recording songs which have been well road-tested," vocalist Joe Dukie said of the new work in a statement.
