Fall Out Boy Are Sharing A New Song Next Week

Fall Out Boy will make their long-awaited, highly-anticipated return next Wednesday with a brand new single, Love From The Other Side.

In the teaser shared by the band, it seems like the Sugar, We're Goin' Down group have found a neat spot between a throwback to their early 2000s pop-punk music, filled with guitars, and current-day production. And, the best part? The band has revealed that there is "lots more to come soon".

The new song will be their first since 2018's M A N I A.

As reported by Rocksound, one of the seashells Fall Out Boy sent to fans was received by none other than Bring Me The Horizon vocalist Oli Sykes. View his reaction below.

Last month, Fall Out Boy began signalling their return by taking out a full-page advertisement in The Chicago Tribune newspaper, with "FOB8" - teasing their eighth album - and the phrase "if you build it, they will come" printed. Is that a Field Of Dreams reference? 

Since then, the band sent out seashells and postcards to fans on their mailing list, which sent them to this URL. In a Christmas gift to fans, Fall Out Boy kept up the teasing with a claymation celebration by Mr Oz - known for his work in Marvel’s Venomverse.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone promoting his memoir, None Of This Rocks, Fall Out Boy co-founder and guitarist Joe Trohman told the publication, "We were working on some stuff that was guitar-based. I don’t know know what’s happening with it. I think it, unfortunately, went to the back burner."

He added, "It would be nice to make a record where the guitar is a little more upfront. We did start that way as a guitar-based rock band, and it’d be cool to go back to those roots. We’d have to find a way to do it that doesn’t sound like Fall Out Boy from 2005. It might be cool for somebody else to do that, but it wouldn’t be cool for us to do it."

Fall Out Boy, Weezer, and Green Day were supposed to head down under in 2020 for the Hella Mega Tour. We're still mourning what could have been.
