Want to hear the new Fall Out Boy album, So Much (For) Stardust a week before its release? Now you can, courtesy of Greville Records in Prahran.

Fall Out Boy have announced listening parties for their new album, all taking place on Thursday, 16 March. While there are numerous listening events happening across the US, only one listening party is happening in Australia and in the entirety of Europe.

“Thought you might want to hear So Much (For) Stardust in its entirety just a little early, ya? Well now you can on March 16th at indie record shops across the country (and a few around the world). View the list below of all the record shops we conspired with to hold special, intimate album listening parties for you,” the band wrote on their website.

The post continues, “All events are free, have exclusive giveaways w/ a chance to win a signed copy of the record + each store will have a limited number of FOB slip mats. So, get there early to secure yours.

“If you haven’t pre-ordered the album yet, you can grab a copy while you’re at one of the parties on Coke Bottle Clear (only available at indie record shops)”.

So Much (For) Stardust was produced by none other than Neal Avron, who the band worked with on the beloved holy trinity of 2000s-emo: From Under The Cork Tree, Infinity On High, and Folie à Deux. The album was led by the singles Love From The Other Side and Heartbreak Feels So Good.

The new album will be distributed by Fueled By Ramen/Elektra internationally and by Warner Records in Australia. Their reunion with Fueled By Ramen/Elektra arrives 20 years after the band were connected with the label and released their 2003 debut album, Take This To Your Grave.

"Technology has made it really easy to make records much more quickly these days. There’s nothing wrong with that, and that spontaneity can be exciting," vocalist Patrick Stump revealed in a statement.

"But we wanted to get back to the way we used to work. We wanted to make a record that was really lovingly crafted and deliberate and patiently guided – like someone cooked you a delicate meal. I’m not a very proud guy, but I’m pretty proud of this record."

Johnny Minardi, VP of A&R for Fueled By Ramen/Elektra shared his excitement about welcoming Fall Out Boy back to the label by saying, "Growing up in Chicago, I had the privilege of watching Fall Out Boy play DIY venues around the city, eventually growing into the global superstars we know them as today. They are a truly special band that has altered the landscape of rock music and who continually evolve with each new release. They have made an incredible album and we can’t wait for the world to hear it."
