EXCLUSIVE: One-Off Tour For Spencer P Jones & The Nothing Butts

17 October 2012 | 3:19 pm | Dan Condon

This is a one-off chance for you to witness Spencer P Jones with his mates Gareth, Fiona and James.

We've already told you all about the new band that Spencer P Jones, Gareth Liddiard, Fiona Kitschin and James Baker have put together, Spencer P Jones & The Nothing Butts, and now we are very excited to tell you that the band are going to be getting out on the road in support of their excellent debut record, which will be released through Shock Records on Friday 9 November.

The tour will see the band take in shows in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, playing a bunch of well-loved venues with fellow Melburnians Bittersweet Kicks supporting on most of the dates.

What is important to note is that this isn't intended to be an ongoing concern, Spencer P Jones has said quite matter-of-factly that this is really just a one-off, unsurprising given they all have plenty of other musical endeavours to keep them more than busy.

“We're really looking forward to these shows.  They'll be something different for all of us and we're only going to do this once before we go back to whatever it is we usually do.  We've all been friends for years but never had the chance to record or tour together as a band; so this is going to be something special.”
