More FLETCHER More FLETCHER

A member of The Devoted Few, Bluebottle Kiss and Sarah Blasko's band, Fletcher is streaming his debut album at theMusic.com.au this week!

Upon Ayr was written over two years while the multi-instrumentalist was playing guitar, bass and keys for Sarah Blasko – who also performs backing vocals on the debut – and was recorded in a Sydney university, in his bathroom and Urchin Studios in London, and at Stockholm's Decibel Studios, with all mastering completed in Berlin.

Leaving school to be a founding member and bassist for Bluebottle Kiss and later founding The Devoted Few, Fletcher toured Europe and the USA with Sarah Blasko after making the move to the London in 2010.

According to the singer-songwriter, the process of writing and recording was quite simple, despite the record's multiple international recording settings.

“Most of what you hear is first take, all the vocals were done either in a bathroom on a borrowed mic that would sometimes electrocute my lips, or in a little wooden room I had to hunch to fit into,” he said. “I've always felt like I've been guilty of over thinking my recordings but this all happened without me even realising it.”

Fletcher is signed to UK label Dramatico and is set to release Upon Aye in Australia on Friday 15 March through Warner, ahead of the UK release in April.

He will be taking to the stage in two Aussie shows this month to showcase his material.
