Band call it quits, offer theMusic exclusive unreleased track

Melbourne post-hardcore outfit House Vs Hurricane have decided to break up after seven years and two albums.

The much-loved outfit released their second album Crooked Teeth last year through UNFD, it peaked at 20 on the ARIA Albums Chart, and the band are currently gearing up for an east coast tour in support of I Killed The Prom Queen, which kicks off later this month. That, along with their River Sessions festival slot will be their last shows.

In a statement the band said, “The five if us could have never imagined the amount of support we have received since our beginnings from our fans, friends, families, past members and the amazing team that has been behind us the entire way.

“We see this as an exciting step more than anything else, of course it's sad but we have been given the opportunity to travel the world, record music, meet so many amazing people and share what we do with anyone who will listen, and for that we are so so grateful and humbled.”

The band said that while the upcoming shows were the last for now, “We may look to do something later on as a final farewell.”

They continued, “Of course we will all continue to play music in some capacity so keep an eye out for that in the future but for now it is goodbye… Lovers, haters, people that don't care, thanks for being a part of the journey, it's been real!”

The band had a number of line-up changes throughout their career and the final line-up featured founding members Ryan McLerie (vocals/guitar) and Chris Shaw (guitar) as well as Dan Casey (vocals), Dylan Stark (bass) and Sam Osborne (drums).

Just minutes after the split was made officially, the band have offered theMusic.com.au an exclusive download for unreleased track Tripping Up. You can listen to and download the track below:
