Dying Wish mourn personal loss with latest single 'Until Mourning Comes'

One of metalcore's bright new hopes, Portland's Dying Wish, continue to write personal, emotionally honest & ass-beating songs with 'Until Mourning Comes.' 

Dying Wish's debut album, 'Fragments of a Bitter Memory,' arrives October 1st via Sharptone Records and is shaping up to be one of the best new metalcore records of 2021, let alone one of the year's strongest debuts. Last month, the band shared the awesome title track, with all of its sick breakdown t's crossed and its strong melodic chorus i's dotted; an exploration of vocalist Emma Boster sharing childhood memories of a marriage that eventually saw a "drunken devil" with "wicked eyes" torment her. More recently, the band have shared this album's second track, 'Until Mourning Comes.'

The theme is all in the name: a musical piece to serve as mourning. 'Until Mourning Comes' is a short-lived metallic metalcore track about loss and grief, about keeping someone's memory alive through the life that you lead after their passing. Dying Wish and their frontperson say as much: "I will live free in your memory. Breathe the love you left behind." Time will die, love will bury it.

Shit kicks off with a rapid drum fill from Jeff Yambra, then two hard-panned fight riffs, before the band strike as one, getting to the head-swinging breakdown action right away. Then off rockets the five-piece with some 2000's-entrenched metalcore guitar progressions and Emma's solid dual-vocal style, all in a solid manner.
