Don Broco’s biggest fan, Melbourne mum Kimberley, flew to the UK last week (landing on 23 March) to watch the band’s sold-out gig at Alexandra Palace in London.

Booking non-refundable flights for her favourite band before Don Broco announced their Australian tour, Kimberley landed at Heathrow Airport to a message from lead vocalist Rob Damiani.

The singer praised and thanked Kimberley for her commitment to the band and vowed to give her a Don Broco welcome.

Kimberley received a shout-out at the show while the band was on stage to rapturous cheers. She revealed she had met the band and was invited to watch them soundcheck.

In another video posted on 26 March, she panned her phone camera to show that she was hanging out with the band when Damiani said, “Hey guys, you don’t all have to be like Kimberley and travel all the way to the UK to see us, we are coming to Australia in May!”

Kimberley said about her whirlwind experience, “I got to watch soundcheck, which is an experience in itself. The guys sound-checked their song Anaheim which turns out was planned as it was one of the songs I’d requested to be on their setlist for this tour.”

She continued, “I then got to meet the guys, Rob and Matt [Donnelly, drums and vocals] were actually on voice rest but still came out to meet me, and they brought me gifts, signed vinyl and tour poster, beanie; hat and an assortment of band shirts. I then got to accompany Si [Delaney, guitar] and Tom [Doyle, bass] to the pop-up merch store and a local bar which was crazy fun.”

Don Broco are returning to Australia this May for three special shows at 170 Russell in Melbourne, The Metro in Sydney, and The Triffid in Brisbane. Tickets are on sale now via The Phoenix.

In October 2021, the band released their UK #1 fourth album, Amazing Things, and experienced four hit singles in Manchester Super Reds, Gumshield, One True Prince and Fingernails

The group went on to headline the UK punk festival, Slam Dunk, and were one of four acts chosen to perform at the legendary Royal Albert Hall for the 2022 Teenage Cancer Trust. They performed in the company of The Who, Ed Sheeran and Liam Gallagher.
