More Disturbed More Disturbed

Disturbed released their eighth album, Divisive, via Reprise Records last Friday and a new AI-generated music video for the single Bad Man.

Tristan Holmes directed the thrilling animated video for Bad ManIt was created with Midjourney AI technology that included over 1,000 frames, which took over a month of image entering prompts and making frames to link together.

Along with Bad Man, Disturbed already released the singles Hey You, Unstoppable, and the title track. Hey You, the album's first single, already sits at over 25 million plays on streaming platforms.

Hey You was released in July this year and sounds like 2000s-era Disturbed. The track differs from their most recent Aussie hit, a cover of Simon & Garfunkel's The Sound Of Silence.

Vocalist David Draiman shared his thoughts on Hey You by suggesting the track is a call-to-arms for a world that is losing its way. "It's a wake-up call. We've become our own worst enemies. Civil discourse has become the exception instead of the norm. People have lost themselves in outrage addiction."

Did David Draiman make good on his promise to fans back in 2020 that the next Disturbed album would be "blisteringly angry"?

Divisive is far removed from the band's nu-metal roots and instead follows the path of pure hard rock. The record finds the band utilising guest vocals for the first time, and what better way to introduce another vocalist to your music than feature one of the greatest rock singers of all time, Heart's Ann Wilson?

Since their formation in 1996, Disturbed have sold 16 million albums globally. Their single Down With The Sickness from the year 2000 record The Sickness is arguably their most known work and is synonymous with turn-of-the-millennium metal.

The band is one of few acts to have five consecutive number-one debuts on the US Billboard Top 200. They sit alongside Metallica as the only hard rock acts to ever do so in the chart's history.
