Veteran rock band 1927 will release their first new studio album in over two decades Friday 9 August, with Alberts Music to issue the album through Sony Music.

The physical edition of the record, Generation-i, will feature a limited edition live DVD. Eight-songs long, the tracks were filmed during the 2012 Roxette tour at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena, Perth's Challenger Stadium and Brisbane's Entertainment Centre.

The record is prominent late '80s and '90s band's fourth studio record and was recorded at WA's House Of Rock studio and produced by the band's own frontman Erik Weiderman. Yesterday the band released the The Essential 1927 best-of compilation.
