Just a taste of what's to come.
Dark Mofo organisers have today confirmed the beloved Tasmanian festival's return, running June 8-22 with the fitting theme of ‘Resurrection’.
With the full program expected to arrive in April, punters have been treated to a “program preview”, confirming the mid-year event will be another one to remember, with its first week focusing on art openings and performance, while week two features “classic Dark Mofo signature events, art, and music”.
Highlights so far include Sonic Youth’s Kim Gordon performing songs from her 2019 solo release No Home Record, England rockers Spiritualized, an exclusive appearance from Deafheaven, as well as a set from celebrated German musician, composer and producer Nils Frahm, a full band rock show from Chelsea Wolfe and more.
“We’re beginning a new era of Dark Mofo, exploring the ideas of rebirth, reincarnation, and new life,” Dark Mofo Creative Director Leigh Carmichael said.

“We’re privileged to have some internationally renowned artists confirmed for this year, alongside exciting locals. It feels like the cultural world is re-emerging post-covid, and so will the festival.”
