More Cradle Of Filth More Cradle Of Filth

Cradle Of Filth have revealed details about their forthcoming new live album, Trouble And Their Double Lives, their first live album in over 20 years - Live Bait For The Dead was released in 2002.

To accompany the epic announcement, the UK extreme metal band have also released their first song of the year; She Is A Fire.

The live album was recorded between 2014 and 2019, with most performances taking place in the US, Europe, Australia and beyond during their Cryptoriana World Tour

Trouble And Their Double Lives will be released on Friday, 28 April, via Napalm Records and serves as a thirst-quencher until the follow-up to 2021’s Existence Is Futile is released next year.

“I would say a live record was long overdue, judging by the 20-odd-year gap between this and our previous offering,” the band’s ringleader Dani Filth said in a statement.

“It also serves as a great accompaniment to the forthcoming co-headlining Double Trouble Live tour(s) with Devildriver, and strangely enough is also a notable gap-filler whilst we prepare our debut album for Napalm Records, due for mass excretion in 2024.”

On She Is A Fire, Filth added, “This track and the other original track on this album, Demon Prince Regent, were both written after the recording of Existence Is Futile and present a perfect, but not necessarily related, bridge between our Nuclear Blast days and the forthcoming album on Napalm Records.

“It was always intended to be a double album, so we just thought, ‘fuck it! Let’s cram some original material on there as well! The absolute worst of both worlds!’ The song itself is about the epitome of burning passion, the dark inspiration of love and the creature that has ignited it.”

Filth teased the long-rumoured, anticipated collaboration between Cradle Of Filth and Ed Sheeran a few months ago.

The Nymphetamine vocalist shared a photo on Instagram with the pop music hitmaker and producer Scott Atkins, who's worked on several Cradle Of Filth albums, including Trouble And Their Double Lives, Existence Is Futile, Godspeed On The Devil's Thunder, and two of the band's finest: Hammer Of The Witches and Cryptoriana - The Seductiveness Of Decay.

"A little over a week ago, I was having lunch with the unlikely lads, having just done something fun," Dani Filth wrote on Instagram, with five devil horn emojis. Who knows what else 2023 will hold for Cradle Of Filth?!
