The metalcore heroes say goodbye early next year

More Confession More Confession

Veteran metalcore outfit Confession are making good on frontman Michael Crafter's promise to call it a day with the announcement of their final-ever run of tour dates for early 2016 — and they're signing on for a massive goodbye.

Getting under way in Melbourne with back-to-back performances on 2 & 3 January (Evelyn Hotel and an all-ages show at Arrow On Swanston, respectively), Crafter & co. will head up through Canberra (4 January), Wollongong (5 January, all ages), Newcastle (6 & 7 January), Mooloolaba (8 January), Brisbane (9 & 10 January), Gold Coast (13 January), Central Coast (14 January), Geelong (15 January), Gippsland (16 January), Hobart (17 January), Perth (20 January), Bunbury (21 January), Perth again (22 January), and Adelaide (23 January), taking their final bow in Sydney, at UTS Underground, with a licensed all-ages show on 30 January.

Crafter (who spent time in I Killed The Prom Queen prior to his Confession stint, as well as in Bury Your Dead and Carpathian) publicly made the decision to retire from playing music in October, having realised — after seven years, three albums, countless tours and "a football side" of ex-members — "I'm sitting here with the idea that we've done enough and it's time to move on".

"Confession has been my musical outlet and I'll forever be grateful to everyone who's supported the band and ever been a part of it," Crafter wrote at the time. "As far as music goes, this was always going to be my last ditch effort and once this was done, I was done with being in a band.

"But it's been great to be able to do what we have done, recorded some music and had loads of fun on the road. Not only that, but meet some amazing friends along the way."

Tickets for all shows go on sale from tomorrow, 27 November, predominantly via Oztix. For a full rundown of venues, dates and other ticketing information, see theGuide or check The Music App.
