Citizen, Touché Amoré, Movements Heading To Australia For Inaugural New Bloom Fest In March 2024

A new alternative music festival is hitting our shores in March 2024: Australia, meet New Bloom Fest, our latest alternative rock and punk music event.

The inaugural event is headlined by American rockers Citizen – touring Australia for the first time since January 2019, with favourites Movements – who recently released an excellent new LP, Ruckus and accompanied Boston Manor on their Australian tour this year, and Touché Amoré, who last visited devoted fans down under in July 2017.

Joining the international heavy hitters are pop-punk outfit No Pressure, alt-rock band Fleshwater, and shoegaze duo Soft Cult. Stellar local acts also fill the line-up, including Eat Your Heart Out performing at the Brisbane date, Amends in Sydney, Born Free in Melbourne, and more. Citizen released their fifth album, the groovy Calling The Dogs, last month. Following their brilliant 2021 album, Life In Your Glass World, both LPs track the band as Mat Kerekes's voice remains smooth as butter, Eric Hamm pulls dirty bass lines straight from 2015, Nick Hamm’s guitar is catchy as hell, the ballads are resonant, and the upbeat songs are funky. Citizen can now make you dance, as well as mosh and have a cry in your bedroom.

New Bloom Fest will hit the East Coast of Australia in March 2024, beginning at the Fortitude Music Hall in Brisbane on Friday, 15 March, followed by the UNSW Roundhouse on Saturday, 16 March, and Melbourne Pavilion on Sunday, 17 March. All dates are strictly 18+.

The Early Bird pre-sale begins on Monday, 6 November, at 5 pm local time – you can sign up here to gain access to those tickets. The general sale starts on Wednesday, 8 November, at 10 am local time, with tickets available via the Destroy All Lines website.
