Chiodos Guitarist Quits To Focus On The Fall Of Troy

Six-string-slinging prodigy Thomas Erak has announced that he will be departing the ranks of Michigan-bred post-hardcore veterans Chiodos to refocus his creative efforts on recently revived genre contemporaries The Fall Of Troy.

Taking to Twitter this afternoon to spread the news after earlier hinting there would be an update with regards to The Fall Of Troy's activity, Erak expressed his best wishes for his now ex-bandmates while reaffirming the existence of a forthcoming album from the rejuvenated three-piece.

Chiodos are yet to comment on Erak's departure.

Erak joined Chiodos in 2012, two years after The Fall Of Troy's initial dissolution. The band's original line-up reunited in late December 2013 for a limited run of shows in Austin, Texas, and by January had confirmed that they were back in the saddle.

"We are nothing without you, and that is why we are going to do things differently this time around," the band wrote at the time. "We're going to go directly to you guys, no more middle men, all DIY.

"We're booking our own shows, where you want to see us. We are recording our own msic, and we are doing it all for you, and for free. Consider yourself our label, consider yourself our booking agent. We play where you want us to play, and we make music for you."
