The Only Place Kate Bush Remains At #1 Is Australia

Nine weeks and still holding at #1 for Kate Bush's Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) in Australia, it's only worldwide top slot this week.

Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) and its ninth week at the singles summit makes it the longest #1 for 2022, and as the song has now logged two separate runs at the top, an initial two weeks from June 13th, and then the last seven weeks at #1 from July 4th (Joji knocked if off the top for a single week on June 27th), it becomes the longest continual run at the top for a Solo Female Artist this decade, with the last stretch for a female artist holding this long being Tones & I's Dance Monkey for its first 21 weeks at the top (24 in total) from August 5th, 2019.

And while Dua Lipa might have logged ten overall weeks at the top alongside Elton John on their collaborative mash-up Cold Heart (PNAU Remix) it was done over four different runs at the top (two weeks from Nov 8th, 2021, three weeks from Dec 13th, 2021, three more weeks from Jan 10 and then two final weeks from Feb 21, both in 2022). Kate's track also becomes the equal 13th longest-running #1 of all time in Australia (1940 to 2022), alongside 26 older tracks that have logged nine weeks at the top locally, while Kate herself rises from equal 66th to now equal 62nd on the tally-board for 'Accumulated Weeks at #1: Singles (1940 to 2022)' alongside Paul McCartney and Racey (two #1s and 12 weeks at the top).

Half of the entire Top 20 are non-movers this week, with five each in both the Top 10 and Top 20, as Harry Styles' current Canadian #1 single (15th week) As It Was remains at #2, having now logged nine weeks in that position, five of which have been for the past five weeks, while the track has yet to leave the Top 3 in its 19 weeks on the chart. Harry is followed by two new peaking tracks, with Steve Lacy's Bad Habit rising one spot to a new chart height of #3, followed by a rebound of four places and a new peak of #4 for the recently announced 2023 tourists here OneRepublic and their Top Gun: Maverick theme tune I Ain't Worried, plus the song is newly Gold (●) in sales and has also taken its first overseas #1 spot, climbing to the top in New Zealand this week.

The Glass Animals long-running former 11-week #1 single Heat Waves is on hold at #5 this week, as it celebrates its second year of charting (104 weeks) within the Top 100, as it first debuted on August 17th, 2020 at #67, staying within the lower fifty for its first sixteen weeks before poking its head into the Top 50 on December 14th, 2020, and then after its triple #1 slot for their countdown in January 2021, it leapt from 11 to #2 on February 1st, 2021, where it has lain within the Top 10 ever since, only leaving on two occasions since then, August 30th, 2021 (#11) and May 30th, 2022 (#16), as this week it racks up its 79th week within the Top 10.

Beyoncé holds at a peak of #6 with Break My Soul, while her new album remains at #1 for a second week, plus this track is holding for a second week at #1 in Ireland and has jumped to top spot in her native USA this week after her album's release over there. After three weeks of charting and peaking at #3 last week, the Central Cee track Doja drops back down four spots to #7, while Doja Cat herself is not far away, as she sits on hold at #10 with Post Malone on I Like You (A Happier Song) (newly Gold (●) in sales, as too is Cooped Up) and back up one spot to #11 with Vegas. In between all-that Doja are Lizzo's About Damn Time, up one spot to #8, and down two places to #9 is the Joji former #1 Glimpse Of Us.

UP

Doja's aforementioned Vegas #11 track is the only rising song within the Top 20 this week, as there are two new entries and five non-movers, which are Stay for The Kid LAROI (#13), Cold Heart (PNAU Remix) for Elton and Dua (#14, one-year chart anniversary this week), holding its #15 peak for a second week are Nicky Youre and dazy with Sunroof (US T10 this week) and the two Ed Sheeran tracks Bad Habits and Shivers at #17 and #18 respectively.

Rosa Linn's SNAP is up two places to a new peak of #21, while the two Top 30 non-movers are also the two new certified tracks within the thirty, Ghost for Justin Bieber (#25, 3x▲Platinum) and Save Your Tears (#27, 7x▲Platinum) for The Weeknd, who also gains new certifications and rises with Blinding Lights (48 to #35), Die For You (44 to a new peak of #40, first cert of 2x▲Platinum), along with Starboy (12x▲Platinum), The Hills (9x▲Platinum) and Call Out My Name (5x▲Platinum).

R3HAB and Amy Shark's cover of Sway My Way is up one spot to a new peak of #27, while The Neighbourhood sees their Sweater Weather track take a three-place rise to a new chart height of #34. Enemy for Imagine Dragons rebounds two spots to #37 (newly 2x▲Platinum), followed by three new peaks; Another Love for Tom Odell (43 to #38), a lower fifty entry from last week for Mac Miller and The Temper Trap with Love Lost (83 to #39) and another lower fifty climber is Numb for Marshmello and Khalid (62 to #49). Both Dreams for Fleetwood Mac (55 to #43) and Watermelon Sugar by Harry Styles (67 to #50) also rise back into the Top 50 this week too.

DOWN

With no songs leaving the Top 10 this week, the two songs to dip within the Top 20 this week are First Class for Jack Harlow, down one spot to #12 and Jimmy Cooks for Drake and 21 Savage, which falls three spots to #19 and is newly certified Gold (●) in sales.

The Kid LAROI's Thousand Miles and Harry's second of three Top 50 entries Late Night Talking are both down three spots each to #22 and #24 respectively, while Big Energy for Latto falls six spots to land at #26. Yung Gravy's Betty (Get Money) slips again this week, down four places to #30, while the only song declining within the Top 40 this week is a two place dip to #36 for Tate McRae's She's All I Wanna Be.

The eighth and final Top 50 certification this week is for a song that has only logged five weeks within the Top 100, three of them within the Top 50; Remember by Becky Hill and David Guetta, which is down six spots to #41 and scores it's first sales cert of ▲Platinum. The song was initially issued in July of 2021, and made its first Top 100 impact at #87 on August 23rd, 2021, with the song most likely selling continually since then, and then it made its return to the Top 100 on July 25th of this year, before jumping to its #34 peak three weeks ago.

Last week within the Top 100 Beyoncé landed eleven tracks from her seventh album Renaissance (Act 1), eight of which were within the Top 50, while this week she is down two just two songs within the Top 50, with her Break My Soul holding at #6, it's the albums highest new entry from last week Cuff It which gains a second week within the Top 50, as it falls down twenty places to #44.

NEW ENTRIES

* #16 - Staying Alive by DJ Khaled feat. Drake & Lil' Baby (We the Best/Epic) is the lead single from his August 24th due 13th studio album God Did, with this new entry becoming his 16th Top 100 and seventh Top 50 entry, plus his fifth charted team-up with Drake after the two tracks PopStar (HP-10) and Greece (HP-30) both on July 27th, 2020, while they also charted together with For Free (HP-70, June 20th, 2016) and To The Max (HP-70, June 19th, 2017).

* #20 - Under the Influence by Chris Brown (RCA) is a bonus track taken from his 2019 album Indigo, with that album issued in late June 2019, and the expanded/extended edition of the set in early October of that same year. This now becomes Chris' 18th Top 20 entry and his first since Go Crazy with Young Thug, which peaked at #9 on June 29th, 2020.

* #31 - Bad Decisions by Benny Blanco feat. BTS & Snoop Dogg (Friends Keep Secrets/Interscope) is now the seventh Top 100 and fourth Top 50 entry for the US record producer and songwriter, who last scored a Top 50 berth alongside Justin Bieber on Lonely (HP-11, peak Nov. 16th, 2020).

* #47 - Not Over Yet by KSI feat. Tom Grennan (Atlantic UK) is the third Top 50 placement for the British artist and YouTuber, teaming with fellow Brit Tom Grennan with his now second Top 50 entry, having first hit #16 (July 26th, 2021) with Little Bit Of Love, while KSI has charted with Holiday (HP-24, June 28th, 2021) and Lose with Lil' Wayne (HP-38, August 16th, 2021).
