17 new acts have been added to the lineup for next year’s Port Fairy Folk Festival, more than doubling the itinerary for the four-day event.

The second artist announcement features a handful of international highlights, including the Australian debuts for the US’ John Craigie and Ondara, the UK’s Good Habits, and Canada’s Cat Clyde. Also announced to be making the trek are Judy Collins (from the US), Luka Bloom (from Ireland), Ralph McTell (from England) and the Sharon Shannon Big Band (again from Ireland).

As for the local additions, punters at the 2024 Port Fairy Folk Festival will have the chance to see live sets from favourites like Kate Miller-Heidke, Fanny Lumsden, Queenie, The Merindas, Damon Smith, Teeny Tiny Stevies, Nigel Wearne & The Spooks, Cool Out Sun and The Little Stevies.

The first lot of acts for the lineup was announced last month, with the biggest names from that drop including Graham Nash, Sarah Blasko, Alice Skye, Sons Of The East, The Songbirds and Sam Cole.

The 2024 Port Fairy Folk Festival will be held over March long weekend (Friday March 8 to Monday 11) in the titular seaside town in southeast Victoria.

In a new press statement, Justin Rudge (the Port Fairy Folk Festival’s program director) revealed that more new acts will be announced over the coming months, calling the festival as a whole “a destination for music lovers and musicians”. He added: “Each year we receive thousands of applications from artists around the world wanting to play at our festival, which is a true honour. The 2024 event is shaping up to be a thrilling event musical feast with acts from right across the globe – some new, some nostalgic – there is certainly something for everyone.”
