Salt-of-the-earth Sydney four-piece Caravãna Sun are ramping up towards the September release of their third studio full-length, Guerrilla Club, with the release of their emotive new single Open Up.

The new track — like its predecessor Eye Of The Storm — was born of the band's evidently creatively fruitful temporary relocation to Fremantle to record the new album with Joel Quartermain (Meg Mac, Eskimo Joe) and by their own account taps into their personal quests to connect with land and culture.

"Open Up is a song about longing for connection to country and opening up to Indigenous culture," bassist Ant Beard said in a statement. "This song washed upon the shores of our creative consciences whilst in Western Australia and continued to find its stride on stages around the world. While our beliefs and respect for Australia’s Indigenous people and culture grew, so did the resonance of this song among our audience. Stepping over boundaries and surpassing all prejudice, before we knew it, a voice was found for a call to action as ‘Open Up’ gave us reason to fearlessly create."

The band are currently lighting it up on-stage in Europe but return to Australia in time to see the new album drop on Friday 2 September, giving themselves just enough time to breathe before kicking off their extensive tour in support of the release at The Loft, Warrnambool, on 16 September. The sojourn includes stops in Torquay, Melbourne, Wollongong, Newcastle, Central Coast, Macleay River, Wootton, Yamba, Caloundra, Adelaide, Bridgetown, Denmark, Fremantle, Yallingup, Broome, Maroochydore, Brisbane and Sydney, coming to a close at the Granite Town Festival on 29 October, more than a month after they first hit the road.
