The Brisbane music and media community has once again rallied its support around Reclink Australia, hosting the Community Cup on Sunday, 30 July, at Enoggera Memorial Park.

On a huge day of grassroots Aussie footy, the band Rocking Horses will play against media/music industry folk in the Brisbane Lines. Every dollar that goes towards the Community Cup will go directly to Reclink Australia programs in Queensland.

Since its inception 30 years ago, the Community Cups now raise over $200,000 annually for Reclink Australia.

As well as the Rocking Horses, which has included members from iconic Australian acts such as Powderfinger/The Church, Nice Biscuit, Whalehouse, Melaleuca, Full Power Happy Hour, Mitch, Please, and many more, alternative pop-rock act Hope D, punk-rock outfit Square and dreamy alt-indie artist Yb are also on the line-up, providing the ideal soundtrack for a local footy game.

Joining the draft for the Brisbane lines is a motley ensemble of 4ZZZ mainstays, ABC Sport staffers and music industry workers from Dew Process, Oztix, QMusic, and Secret Sounds.

This year’s Community Cups celebrate 30 years of the first event which originally took place in Melbourne. A key fixture on the Reclink calendar, matches are played across the country with Brisbane celebrating eight years of fundraising as part of the national event.
